Our Remarkable Journey:
Back in 1996, Andy Gilbert decided to take a risk and start his own training and development consultancy. A values driven consultancy where he could harness his learning (a Masters Degree in HR Development) and experience as a consultant in large-scale organisational change and development.
Andy knew that we all make thousands of differences in our lives each and every day and that our actions are dictated by our thinking. He had the realisation that most people are unaware of what they naturally do (i.e. what the DNA of their thinking habits are) whenever they achieve success in life. He wanted to lead an organisation that really made a difference.
But what does making a difference really mean and how can you evidence it? Rising to the challenge of Kath Roberts, one of the original team, Andy decided to undertake a massive phenomenological (i.e. studying a phenomenon – this time about Making A Difference) research project using the question; “What is the simplest way of explaining the success process that people naturally use when making a difference?”
After a year and over 4,000 hours of interviews with successful individuals, Andy and his team found that the result was not a process but a system. A system that could be understood and applied by individuals, teams and businesses to achieve greater results. A system comprising interdependent components and key principles.
After one year of testing as a development programme for schools and as a development and coaching programme in the business world, the new thinking system was launched. The acclaimed Go MAD Framework continues to underpin all the training and development work of the business over a decade later.
