Binge Thinking – Blogging for the mindful...

Welcome to our blog.  This is an openly available weblog – or online diary – where the Go MAD Team can share their views.  It gives you a unique peek inside the thinking of the people in our business.  We trust it opens your mind to some topical issues of the day.  Enjoy!

Forward Thinking - new thoughts for the future - Ros Palmer - 11 Feb 2009

I first came across Futurology in the 90s with the discovery of Faith Popcorn and the Popcorn Report.  There was a wave of future thinkers at that time and then it seemed to peter off as a management discipline.  And now, we all find ourselves in the middle of challenging times, there is a new wave of commentary about how we need to keep an eye to the future to ensure success.  Two reports have really struck a chord here:  'The Forward Thinking Report' from the Institute of Directors and Barclays Bank plc and 'Web 2.0 and the evolution of Instructional design' from Inside Learning Technologies.

Critical Thinking In Prison - Ros Palmer - 21 Jan 2009

The year started in an excellent way on many fronts.  Not only do we have tons of great projects and new developments at Go MAD Thinking, but over the Christmas period, probably prompted by the receipt of our Christmas Book - The Little Book of Choices - we have had some wonderful feedback on Making a Difference.

Now I am offically certified - Suzanne Wood - 23 Dec 2008

As an NLP practitioner that is!

At the end of last month I was locked in a room with another 18 individuals for 7 days with the end result declaring me a certified practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming. NLP is the study of excellence, which describes how our thinking produces our behaviour.

Ten Ways to spot a great future thinker aged eight - Ros Palmer - 01 Dec 2008

Recently I saw an article on the BBC news website, prompted by Lewis Hamilton’s FI championship win, entitled: ‘Ten ways to spot a future F1 champ aged eight’. It basically centred on the fact that he was a promising Go Kart champion at eight years old.

Leadership Lessons from Nelson Mandela - Ros Palmer - 28 Oct 2008

As Nelson Mandela celebrates his 90th birthday next week he has given an interview to Time Magazine to summarise his top 8 leadership lessons in life.

They are mostly practical. Many of them stem directly from his personal experience.

As Time says: “All of them are calibrated to cause the best kind of trouble: the trouble that forces us to ask how we can make the world a better place”.
