Binge Thinking – Blogging for the mindful...
Welcome to our blog. This is an openly available weblog – or online diary – where the Go MAD Team can share their views. It gives you a unique peek inside the thinking of the people in our business. We trust it opens your mind to some topical issues of the day. Enjoy!
No time to think - Ros Palmer - 03 Aug 2008
Well, I’ve hit the ground running as usual on a Monday and find myself, at 2.30pm in the afternoon just catching my breath from ploughing through my to do list. In short, I’m having a cuppa and actually ‘thinking’ about stuff, not least the bumper packed two-day away team event we all enjoyed on Thursday and Friday of last week (more musings in later episodes…).
Hot Spots - Ros Palmer - 14 Jul 2008
I’m back from holiday, where along with a novel I read one of the many business books that sit on my coffee table at home willing me to find the time to read them. This one was well worth the effort. Hot Spots is by Professor Lynda Gratton who undertook the original research as part of an extensive academic study. Consequently it is packed with more detail and rigorously researched case studies than most business books I read.
Back on the Apprentice bandwagon - Ros Palmer - 21 Jun 2008
So, back on the Apprentice bandwagon, I'm still conflicted about the way the men versus the women are treated on the Apprentice (and in the business world at large for that matter). Sir Alan sees Lee as an affable bloke while 'rottweiler' Clare got the heave ho despite the fact that she did learn to keep her mouth shut in the latter boardroom showdowns. At least Karen Brady liked her and I wonder if she has made her the job offer she promised at the ruthless interview stage?
Is it what we're talkin' about? - Ros Palmer - 16 Jun 2008
So the latest series of the Apprentice is over and I now have to plan my Wednesday evenings all over again. How will I cope without shouting at the television non-stop for an hour and then hearing the outcome discussed on every radio and tv programme, in the supermarket, at work and just about everywhere on Thursday? How can I learn whole new ways of using the English language such as, 'Will you stop conflicting me Alex?' and how can I decide if Lee is anything like a worthy winner?
Ask Better Questions - Ros Palmer - 03 Jun 2008
Well, at 4.28 am today I tried to speak more kindly to myself. One of the things I remembered to do was ask better questions.
