It's Your Choice!
Opening YOUR mind & helping YOU to think
"It's in our choices Harry, that we show what we truly are, far more than our abilities." Professor Dumbledore to Harry Potter.
We love the Harry Potter stories and are captivated when watching the film versions as Harry has to make one choice after another, to choose good over evil and steer a course towards his final destiny. The choices we make do determine the path that we tread and we have to make choices, however big or seemingly insignificant, every day of our lives.
To mark Christmas 2008 we have compiled 'The little book of choices'. Life is full of choices and so Andy Gilbert asked 100 people to share their thoughts about the choices we have and make. The book is a collection of their wisdom, wit and occasional weirdness! We believe it will both amuse and inspire you to Go MAD (Make A Difference).
Here is a collection of some of the choices that our contributors made... |

Go MAD Thinking creates radical results for The Midcounties Co-operative
Opening OTHERS' minds & helping OTHERS to think
In February 2008 we started work with The Midcounties Co-operative on an ambitious business improvement programme. The objectives were:
> To equip the leadership team with a shared thinking system and solution focused toolkit.
> To enable participants to develop their strategic leadership, planning, thinking and decision making skills through cross functional team challenges.
> To create 30 measurable business improvements in-line with 2008 objectives.
The Autumn issue of The Midcounties Co-operative inhouse magazine, Team Talk, has a two page feature on the programme. It reports that it "has turned out some fantastic results for the second set of 90-day challenges... from gala dinners to bespoke websites, they've done it all."
The article details the outcomes of six seperate challenges across six teams. Find out more about this and other excellent challenges. More... |

Coaching
Opening MULTIPLE minds & helping ORGANISATIONS to think
One of our best selling and most loved publications is 'Go MAD About Coaching'. First published in 2000, the purpose of the book is to help managers and leaders develop the ability of others in their team to individually and collectively make a difference that ultimately contributes to the success of the organisation. It is also designed to help individuals use a solution focused thinking system to help themselves and others and to make coaching easy to understand and apply.
We have developed a set of self-coaching exercises on our website (www.gomadthinking.com). These easy to follow five minute exercises use the Go MAD Thinking System to help develop your skills and overcome challenges in your personal life. The key is not just about managing yourself, it is about managing your thinking in order to make better choices and enhance your life in all the areas that are important to you.
Why not complete our exercise 'How to test, develop and strengthen your confidence.' |
