How is the MSc Structured?
There are three separate, yet integrated, qualifications that provide a structured pathway to the Masters Degree.
1. A Postgraduate Certificate in Solution Focused Thinking & Performance Coaching
The focus on this award is developing individuals and teams to be Solution Focused Thinkers through Performance Improvement Coaching, which will involve applying the Go MAD® Thinking System and other related and appropriate coaching tools and techniques.
Evidence of coaching competence and a critical reflection on how individuals have applied Solution Focused Thinking in their role will be collated through portfolios of evidence and learning logs.
Students will be supported through online materials, academic mentors and a telephone coaching buddy system.
2. A Postgraduate Diploma in Solution Focused Leadership
Having explored key strategic issues within the organisation and identified a senior sponsor, the focus of the qualification is on leading and strategically engaging people to be solution focused thinkers.
Learning and development will encourage the exploration and application of:
3. A Masters Degree (MSc) in Solution Focused Thinking & Leadership

Solution Focused Thinking methodologies to organisational development and people engagement strategies (unlocking discretionary effort and extraordinary performance from people)

thinking systemically about business improvement before planning and taking action
•
leading people during organisational change
•
sharing strategy and vision whilst inspiring creativity and innovation.
This will be awarded following the successful submission of a portfolio of evidence that clearly demonstrates value added impact to the organisation and self-mastery of solution focused thinking and leadership. Learning and development will focus on innovation and 'breakthrough' thinking methods for self and leading others.
There will also be a written assignment reflecting on the quality of the individual's thinking as a strategic leader, the impact it had on the action taken and results achieved whilst completing the assessments that form part of the Masters award.
